Grandmother with entire body covered in tattoos reveals what she looked like decade ago

Many people enjoy getting tattoos to express their individuality. However, there are others who are completely against such body modifications. Kerstin Tristan was one of those against it until 2015, when a single incident changed her perspective forever…

Keep reading to find out more about her journey.

At 56 years old, Kerstin Tristan is both a mother and a grandmother. But unlike what some might consider ‘normal’ for a grandmother, she is passionate about body modification art, particularly tattoos.

Her entire body is now adorned with tattoos, a dedication that has required a significant investment. However, until 2015, she was not a fan of tattoos at all. So, what changed? That year, she decided to try her very first tattoo, which completely shifted her views on the practice.

“I simply just wanted to try something new. We all live just once, and I thought that at my age, something real has to come,” she shared.

Since then, Kerstin has spent 30,000 euros (approximately US $32,000) on covering her body with tattoos. Fortunately, her bold choices have attracted a lot of positive attention and admiration.

Her Instagram account boasts over 190,000 followers, and her TikTok videos have garnered millions of views.

Kerstin is not shy about flaunting her looks. She posts numerous photos on Instagram, where she showcases her entire body. But a decade ago, she looked very different, completely tattoo-free. She occasionally shares comparison photos to highlight the drastic transformation.

Based in Germany, this influencer has tattoos ranging from vibrant roses on her legs, a leopard print on her shoulders, to detailed portraits on her arms—among countless others all over her body.

She loves her new appearance, saying, “When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love.”

And she isn’t alone in her admiration. One fan commented, “A beautiful work of art,” while another wrote, “Wow, stunning photo.”

Expressing yourself shouldn’t end with age. If anything, Kerstin’s story is a wonderful example of how age should not restrict how you choose to express yourself to the world. What do you think of her tattoos? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
