This Beautiful Song Was Written In A Church Basement In 1955

One of those songs was written in 1955 and performed by the Five Satins. It is one of those songs that continues to captivate us every time we hear it because of its haunting melody and beautiful words.

When In the Still of the Night was first released, nobody had any idea that it would be as popular as it was. It is considered to be one of the best songs of its time and it is still being performed down to this day by many groups.

What many people don’t know is that Fred Parris wrote the song in 1955 in a local church basement. Eventually, the track would become more and more popular and it even grew in popularity in 1987 when it was used on the soundtrack for Dirty Dancing.

Rolling Stone magazine lists the song at number 90 in the top 500 greatest songs of all time. It is one of those songs that just keeps giving, and you can hear and watch what it has to offer in the following video:
