New Petition To Hold Raygun ‘Accountable’ For Her Zero Score Olympics Performance

If there’s one thing that people want, it’s an opportunity to have the last word. They will fight for what they believe in until their last breath and sometimes, some people may get hurt in the process.

Australian breakdancer Raygun has been at the center of controversy since her Olympic performance did not go well. She ended up scoring a zero across the board and now thousands of people are signing the petition.

The petition was set up to call her into account for what she did at the Olympics. It also criticized her extremely for her dance technique.

It wasn’t long after the breakdance performance that she was going viral on social media. Not many people were impressed with what she did, and the judges didn’t seem to appreciate it either.

Some people thought that it was funny enough to make a joke or perhaps create a meme but other people said that it was a more serious issue. This included one person who started a change.org petition, although that petition has since been taken down.

According to the petition, the b-girl should be accountable for her performance and it questioned whether she was legitimately selected as part of the Olympics or not.

After the petition was flagged for misinformation, it was reviewed and removed from change.org. Before it was removed, however, some 45,000 people had signed the petition and there were others who were aware of it.

The petition itself was dismissed by the Australian Olympic Committee. They went on to condemn some of the claims that were made within the petition. This included the chief executive officer saying it was ‘vexatious, misleading and bullying.’

In addition, he said that the petition: “contains numerous falsehoods designed to engender hatred against an athlete who was selected in the Australian Olympic Team through a transparent and independent qualification event and nomination process.”

Rachel Gunn also spoke about it on social media, saying: “I really appreciate the positivity and I’m glad I was able to bring some joy into your lives, that’s what I hoped.

“I didn’t realize that would also open the door to so much hate, which has frankly been pretty devastating.”

Change.org also responded, saying that it ‘maintains strict guidelines against content that constitutes harassment, bullying, or spreading false information’.

They went on to say: “We take such matters seriously and remove any content that violates these standards to protect our users and uphold the integrity of our community.”
