There are times when we may see something that really tugs at our heartstrings. Such is the case with a young boy who was holding a sign in Georgia.

The 11-year-old boy was standing beside the road holding a sign and trying to get people’s attention. The sign was asking for help to bury his mother.

It happened in Lindale, Georgia, a small town in that state. Kayden Ely was holding the sign along a railroad track that read: “Please help me bury my mama.”

His mother, Shannon Mount had passed away at the age of 45 on July 18. She suffered a heart attack at her home on July 8 and her boyfriend, Billy Upton performed CPR until the paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, she did not survive.

That left Ely without his mother and the family could not cover the funeral expenses because she did not have life insurance. They did set up a GoFundMe page, and it has been successful, generating over $80,000 for the family.

For two days, however, Ely stood by the railroad tracks and held the sign but it wasn’t long before the community stepped in. Some anonymous donor even gave a burial plot for the family.

According to the fundraiser: “Kayden had a mission and he went on it full force, with all the extra donations, his aunt Jessica Davis and I would like to make sure Kayden gets to do things children his age gets to do, sports, camps, etc.

“Today we took him to Walmart so he could get a bed set and he got a few things he needed.”

It continued: “When we were leaving his aunt asked him, why are you so happy and he replied.. ‘me and mama didn’t have much money we were poor, and I didn’t get to go buy stuff like this’ and all this baby got was a bed set, tooth brush, pillows and pillow cases.

“He is so thankful. Thank yall for making him smile.”

We hope the family finds comfort during this difficult time.
