Girl Who Captured Hearts On The Late Toy Show Has Lost Her Battle With Cancer

Saoírse is somebody that many of us remember after she was on the Late Late Night Toy Show in 2020. She told a story about her life that touched people then and it continued to move people for years.

The young girl from Galway appeared on the show to speak about her fight against a rare form of bone cancer. Unfortunately, she lost the fight recently and passed away.

Saoírse was diagnosed with that rare form of bone cancer in 2019 and her story went viral. The next year, she had to have her leg amputated after they found an osteosarcoma tumor in her tibia.

She continued to fight the cancer that was growing in her and inspired many people along the way. With her passing, many people are heartbroken, including her little sister, Farah-Rose, and her parents.

They spoke about the loss, saying: “After a long brave and dignified battle, our hearts are shattered to tell you that our beautiful little Saoírse took her last breath in our arms on Tuesday.

“Thank you to all of our wonderful fans for thinking about Saoírse and us over the past few weeks.

“Today, we also think of you because we know how much the country loved Saoírse and how she changed the lives of so many people.

“Cancer, you took her away from us. You also took away our dreams and the life we had. Things will never be the same!

“Please give us some space as we go on our last and final trip with our beautiful girl. “Farrah Rose and Mamma Dadda.”

November of last year is when the world received a difficult update from the family. The recurring tumor was found in her left lung in 2023 and they were shocked that it had spread to the other lung.

They spoke about how it was her ‘biggest battle to date’ because she was going through chemotherapy yet again. They had no idea that their world was about to fall apart.

Her mother said, “To say we’re devastated just doesn’t cover it.”

It’s always difficult to lose a loved one. We hope that the family is able to cope with such a difficult loss.
