Many people are aware of the fact that George Clooney gifted his closest pals $1 million each. But why did he do that specifically?

Few people are aware of that!One of the most famous names in Hollywood is George Clooney. The A-List actor struggled to get where he is; after arriving in Los Angeles, the actor spent time sleeping on friends’ sofas while attending auditions.

He has never, not even briefly, forgotten where he came from.

One of George Clooney’s most well-known rumors is that he handed all 14 of his closest pals $1 million in cash. That headline may have been dismissed as a rumor by many readers since, after all, who gives away $14 million?

However, Clooney actually did that. In an interview, the actor was completely open about his motivations.

“Amal and I had just met, but we weren’t dating at all,” the actor recalled. “I was a single guy. All of us were aging. I was 52 or something. And most of my friends are older than me,” he said.

Despite being single, he was appreciative of all the friends he had since they had always been there for him when he needed them throughout the course of the previous 35 years.

“They helped me when I needed help over the years. And I’ve helped them over the years. We’re all good friends,” he explained.

“And I thought, you know, without them I don’t have any of this. And we’re all really close, and I just thought basically if I get hit by a bus, they’re all in the will. So why the f**ck am I waiting to get hit by a bus?” he recalled.

George made the decision to share his good fortune with his loved ones as a result. He had just finished filming “Gravity” with Sandra Bullock, which was a huge success and brought in millions for him.

So the actor came up with a plan that could be a fantastic movie idea.He rented a vehicle and painted “Florist” on one side of it. Then he went to a warehouse in Los Angeles that was reputed to have “giant pallets” of cash on hand.

When George obtained $14 million in cash and placed it into 14 separate Tumi luggage bags. He then invited his buddies, whom he affectionately refers to as “The Boys,” to join him for dinner the following evening.

When the actor thought back to the dinner, he recalled holding out a map to show his friends. “And I just held up a map and I just pointed to all the places I got to go in the world and all the things I’ve gotten to see because of them” he recounted.

Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s husband and Clooney’s business partner in the Casamigos project, was one of the 14 men in the group. He also discussed the memorable night in an interview.

“George begins to say, ‘Listen, I want you guys to know how much you’ve meant to me and how much you mean to me in my life,” he said.

Gerber continued by recounting what had happened that evening. According to him, Clooney informed them all how much they meant to him and how without them, his career would not have progressed as far as it has. Then he instructed each of his companions to unzip the bags in front of them.

The 14 men were in complete astonishment when they unzipped their baggage.By informing them that he had already paid the taxes due on the money, Clooney added to their disbelief.

“One was working at a bar in Texas at the airport, trying just to support his family,” Gerber said. “Rides a bicycle to work every day. I mean, these are guys that took care of George, and now he’s giving it all back,” Gerber said.

Gerber, who is a prosperous businessman in his own right, however, turned down his friend’s kind offer.

But Clooney is not one to take no for an answer, “I’m just going to make one announcement. If Rande doesn’t take the million dollars, nobody gets their money,” he replied. This prompted Rande to accept but he subsequently donated all of the money to charity.

The kind of friend that everyone should have is George Clooney! This is such a touching tale.
