Genetics are interesting and at times, we may see children or grandchildren that look almost identical to their parents. We often call them a chip off the old block or perhaps even a doppelgänger, but really we are just trying to say that they look almost identical.

It seems as if 57-year-old actor Patrick Dempsey has a doppelgänger of his own. He was with his wife and children doing a red carpet appearance and when they stepped out, everyone had the same thought.

The family was beautiful and very stylish, but it was the 16-year-old son, Darby, that captured people’s attention. He is the spitting image of his father, and you can’t help but notice the resemblance.

In fact, many fans were amazed at what they saw. There was a slight difference, but people can’t help but call them his clone and even proclaimed him the next McDreamy.

As far as Patrick is concerned, he loves having a big family. He even feels that it is easier to have three children than one child, and he feels it has helped his relationship with his wife in many ways.

When they turned teenagers, however, he said that things began to get harder because they required a lot more energy.

“Because you need to be around, but they don’t want you around because they’re fighting for their independence, which they should,” he told People in 2023. “They need to find out how they interact in the world, they need to learn those boundaries, they need to make mistakes. And you need to be there for them and allow them to learn from that.”

It’s nice to see that he is enjoying life and who knows, perhaps we will see his son more often than we do now.
