Jennifer Lopez shares her thoughts about her breakup with Ben Affleck: “I honestly felt like I was going to pass”… Learn more below…

Jennifer Lopez has stated that the divorce she went through with Ben Affleck 20 years ago was so “traumatic” that she believed she was going to “d. i.e.” The singer discussed her most recent album, which was inspired by Affleck’s work, in a recent interview. She also discussed what the actor and director had to say about certain lyrics that seemed to be about him personally.

Lopez, who is 53 years old, recently discussed her upcoming album, This Is Me… with Zane Lowe of Apple Music.

Now, the highly anticipated follow-up to her smash project from 2002, This Is Me…Then.

Lopez elaborated on this by saying, “Twenty years ago, I met the person who would become the love of my life.” “Right now, the most beautiful, astounding, and amazing thing has just taken place… the reason we are all here is that I want to save this moment in time because it is even better than the first time.”

After rekindling their relationship over the summer, Affleck and Lopez announced that they were getting married (twice!). In 2004, the Gigli co-stars announced that they were breaking up their engagement.

“It was such a trying time after we ended our relationship. When we decided to call off that wedding twenty years ago, I was devastated; it was the single event in my life that caused me the most emotional pain. I honestly felt like I was going to pass, “Lopez was able to recall. “It threw my life into disarray for the subsequent 18 years, during which I was unable to get anything right. It was impossible for me to succeed. But now, twenty years later, it has been resolved in a way that makes everyone pleased. It features the finale that Hollywood fans would say “would never, ever happen.” “That would never happen.” That is not going to be written since we know that no one would believe it even if they did.”

Lopez has stated that when she and Affleck got back together, Affleck confronted her about the fact that she did not include any songs in This Is Me that were about him. Then.

“I was like, ‘You’re correct. It was a trying experience. I had to let go of a piece of who I was back then in order to go on with my life and stay alive. “There is no doubt that it was a strategy for survival,” Lopez recounted. (She also mentioned that Affleck “knows all the words” to the songs on that album, which is interesting to note.)

“And This Is Who I Am…

Then perfectly captured a fleeting instant in time when I first laid eyes on the one who would become the love of my life. Everything is written down in the official record. “At that point, I had no idea what was going on or what I was doing,” Lopez recalled thinking to herself. It was such a unique moment in time to have documented each and every song that we wrote there, including the song that I wrote called “Dear Ben.”

Lopez stated that the “media frenzy” that surrounded their relationship “destroyed us” back when it happened all those years ago.

“The energy from the outside world was a significant contributor to our demise; it came at us from all directions.” Despite the fact that we loved one another, it was challenging. It sometimes felt unjust, but neither one of us is the kind of person who would say “poor me” over and over again. So we were like, ‘Well, we just had to dust it off and keep it rolling.’ “And I believe, in the craziest sense, that it spurred both of us to then become and accomplish the things that we ending up doing, which is kind of go into hyper-gear,” she said, noting that they were forced to “do it independently.” ” Both he and I jumped into hyper-gear at the same time. But not in that order. We had to work on it in our own time… It fuelled us in a strange way, in the sense that we felt the need to prove ourselves once more.

A clue was dropped by Lopez that This Is Me…

Now, will have lyrics that are just as intimately personal as its predecessor.

“We were able to capture me at this exact point in time when I was reunited with the love of my life and we made the decision that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives.” This love does exist and is, thus, the overarching theme of the record. This love is the real deal. Now, I believe that the message of the record is very much that if you were wondering if you, like me at times, have lost hope and almost given up, don’t. Because genuine love does exist, and there are some things that do last a lifetime, and this is a fact,” the star of Marry Me explained.

“I want to push that message out into the world, and I recognize that doing so requires a great deal of vulnerability on my part. However, I was unable to stop myself, and some aspects of it make me quite nervous. And I have a feeling that some of it terrify Ben as well. Oh, he’s like, ‘do you really want to say all this stuff?’ (Do you really want to say all this stuff?) And I’m just like, ‘I don’t know how else to do it, darling.’” The joke was on Lopez.
