Curb Your Enthusiasm Star Has Died

Comedy is something that all of us appreciate. Unfortunately, the comedy world has lost one of its own, as Richard Lewis passed away at the age of 76.

Many are familiar with Richard Lewis because of his part in the show, Curb Your Enthusiasm. He had a heart attack and died in his home, only months after retiring from stand-up comedy and dealing with Parkinson’s disease.

Lewis still reappeared on season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm and has been a part of the show for some 24 seasons. On the show, he plays a fictionalized version of himself, showing a style of comedy that is not often seen.

He first came to the degree of popularity in the 1980s and it carried over into the 1990s when he was on shows, such as Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show. He also had a number of comedy specials on HBO and Showtime.

Many comedians who are able to achieve this degree of popularity also take on acting roles, and he is no different. He starred with Jamie Lee Curtis in the sitcom, Anything but Love, as well as playing on Leaving Las Vegas and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Over the years, he has dealt a considerable bit with drug and alcohol addiction. He got sober, making that decision after John Candy died in 1994.

We will miss his comedy and we hope his family can find peace during this difficult time.
