88-Year-Old Man Comes To Hospital With WWI Bomb In His Rectum

When we read things on the Internet, we can almost expect to hear something strange every once in a while. We have one for you today, and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever heard before.

It happened in France and this is a true story, so you can kind of let that sink in while we tell you about it. It involved a medical issue that a man was going through, and let’s just say it was a very sensitive problem.

The 88-year-old man had gone to the hospital because he had something stuck in his rectum. It seems as if he may have been putting something where it didn’t belong, but it wasn’t something you would expect, it was a bomb.

That’s right, a World War I bomb was stuck in the man’s rectum and it set off a bomb scare that had the hospital being partially evacuated. He had just come in for some help with a rather sensitive issue, but it ended up being a full-blown emergency on many levels.

According to a spokesman with the hospital, the emergency occurred between 9 PM and 11:30 PM on Saturday evening. A bomb disposal unit had to be called out and they evacuated the adult and pediatric emergency centers.

After the bomb disposal personnel arrived at the hospital, they examined the man and determined that the 8-inch long artillery shell was unlikely to explode inside of the man. They reassured everyone that it was a collector’s item from the First World War used in the French military.

I think that he was using it for something else.

Of course, they did take precautions and they managed the risk as well as they could. At that point, doctors began the task of removing the explosive from his rear end, which more than likely was put in there for some sort of perverted purpose.

Although they probably heard of people doing things like this before and ending up in hot water, the choice of what he put in his rectum took people by surprise. One doctor even said that he could see an apple, mango, or even a can of shaving cream but a bombshell?

As you can imagine, social media was abuzz with comments about the man’s choices in life. I’m sure that he will have a difficult time living this one down. He is expected to make a full recovery.
