Rare antelope calf born at Pennsylvania zoo.. See how cute it is.

The Lehigh Valley Zoo in Pennsylvania said that a scimitar-horned oryx calf was born.

The scimitar-horned oryx is a rare antelope that no longer lives in the wild.

The zoo and Lehigh Valley Health Network said on Sept. 9 that the calf was born to the zoo’s herd of scimitar-horned oryx.

The calf, named Eclipse, was born to a mother named Too Haute.

The zoo said that the mother and child had time to bond alone before going back to the exhibit.

The species is from North Africa, but it is thought to be extinct in the wild at this point.

The Lehigh Valley Zoo is part of a program to increase the number of the species in captivity in a responsible way.
