Have you ever had the experience of waking up somewhere and not realizing how you got there? It can be disconcerting, especially when it seems as if all of your memories are gone.

A 27-year-old woman by the name of Ellie Farnfield experienced this when she woke up at a train station on a bench. When she regained consciousness, she had no idea how she got there or why she would be in that area.

One thing that helped Ellie to understand her situation could be found in a handwritten note that was in the palm of her hand. As you can imagine, it would be an anxious situation to wake up in a strange place but that note helped to calm her anxieties.

The little piece of paper was folded neatly and placed inside of her palm. It was from a complete stranger, someone who simply signed his name as ‘Tom’. In the note was everything she needed to understand what had happened and what was about to happen.

The note read “Eleanor. I hope by the time you read this you are feeling better. You had a seizure on the train and I took you off. You didn’t hit your head, but I may have hurt your leg as I walked on it before realizing you were on the floor having a fit! Sorry! I’m also sorry I can’t stay with you now, but here is a coffee to perk you up later and £10 to make sure you get a taxi home. Sorry I don’t have anymore money, so I hope you don’t live far away. I’ve contacted people from your phone and medical help is on its way and you’re with train staff. Wishing you all the best and a quick recovery. Love Tom.”

After she read the note, she realized that help was on the way and that she had had something that is known and is an unprovoked seizure. It typically happens out of the blue and for her, it caused her to lose consciousness and he had to carry her out to the bus bench.

After reading the note, she reached out to social media in an effort to find Tom. We never knew if she was able to find him and thank him personally, but she did get a lot of positive responses.
