In the 1960s, Peter Noone, who used to be the lead singer of Herman’s Hermits, was the most desirable guy in the world. Millions of people around the world fell in love with him because of how good-looking and singing he was. Best of all, he still amazes crowds with his performances even though he is 75 years old! When Noone became the lead singer of Herman’s Hermits, he became famous very quickly.
Songs like “I’m Into Something Good” made the band famous, and in 1965, they sold more records than even the Beatles. But what made Noone stand out from other heartthrobs of the time was how shy he was on stage, which fans liked and made him more appealing. During those crazy and exciting years, Noone lived the typical rock star life, but he was smart enough to stay away from drugs. He could party all night, get drunk, and still have to be up for gigs and interviews the next day.
No one thinks of those times with fondness as a great time in his life, full of fun and excitement.Noone is still on tour today as part of Britain’s Solid Silver 60s Show. Other music stars from the time, like Brian Poole and Brian Hyland, will be there, but not his fellow Hermits. The best part is that Noone still loves traveling and is glad to see that they can still get people to come to their shows. Fans coming up to him and singing old songs warms his heart. This shows how much people still love his music.
After living in California since the 1970s, Noone has adopted the healthy way of life that is typical of the state. He feels lucky that, unlike many others, he made it through the crazy 1960s. A drink was something he liked, but he never got into drugs. In fact, Noone went to his first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting with his heavy drinking father when he was 19 years old.
He wouldn’t have called himself an alcoholic, but the experience taught him how important it is to care about other people’s feelings and be able to act on stage. He made the choice to drink less, and in the sixteen years since, he hasn’t had a drink. But he’s fine with his wife drinking if she wants to. Noone has been married to Mireille for 43 years and is very happy with her. They fell in love when he was 20 years old. For him, it was love at first sight.
Even though they were on vacation in Ibiza, they kept after her and finally got together. Nicole is their daughter together. Everyone in the band stayed together until 1971, when they were 24 years old. They all wanted to go their separate ways.In the 1980s, Noone found a new way to show off his skills by starring in “Pirates of Penzance” on Broadway and leading the American TV music show “My Generation.” Some years ago, he even helped judge and train singers on “American Idol.”
Noone talked about what he thought about the show. He compared it to the Beatles’ trip and said that the Beatles probably would have lost a TV competition. When Noone thinks about his long career, he feels very fortunate to still be doing what he loves at age 75. He knows that he’s not the shy kid he used to be and is happy about his increased confidence. People are still mesmerized by Peter Noone’s charisma and ability, showing that real star power doesn’t depend on age.
