While Dolly will still create new music, she revealed in a recent interview with Pollystar that she no longer has the ambition to embark on full-fledged tours. Instead, she plans to perform occasionally at festivals or during long weekends to keep the music alive.

Dolly’s love story with Carl started back in 1964 when they met outside a laundromat in Nashville. It was love at first sight for Carl, who declared, “I’m going to marry that girl.” Dolly’s beauty captivated him, and he knew she was someone special. Despite a slightly unconventional invitation, their connection grew stronger, and in May 1966, they tied the knot in a private ceremony in Georgia.

Now, after more than 50 years of marriage, Dolly and Carl are inseparable. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary by renewing their vows and are eager to spend even more precious time together.

Dolly explained her decision to step back from touring, saying, “I want to stay closer to home with my husband. As we get older, I don’t want to be away for long periods. Life is unpredictable, and I want to be there for my loved ones if they need me. It wouldn’t feel right to deprive my fans or leave them disappointed in the middle of a tour.”

Dolly’s fans have been incredibly fortunate to experience her talent and kindness throughout the years. Now, it’s time for her to relax and cherish the joy she has brought to so many lives. Dolly, we will always love you, and we wish you all the happiness in this new chapter of your life.
