Reeves and Grant first met at a dinner party in 2009 and have since collaborated on two art books together. In 2011, Reeves authored his first book, “Ode To Happiness,” which Grant illustrated. They later worked together again on Reeves’ 2016 book, “Shadows,” with Grant contributing artwork once more.
Despite being together for several years, the couple has kept their relationship out of the public eye. However, they made their red carpet debut at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in 2019, with sources claiming that Keanu Reeves was the one who wanted to make their relationship public after a decade of friendship and dating.

During her 2020 interview with Vogue, Alexandra Grant discussed the public’s response to her relationship with Keanu Reeves and how she was coping with the newfound attention. She revealed that “every single person” she knew called her in the first week of November, which she found fascinating. Despite the sudden media interest, Grant focused on the positive side of the situation and wondered, “What is the opportunity for good?“
Grant also spoke about her decision to embrace her natural gray hair, her upcoming projects, and her thoughts on love and marriage. She shared that “love at every level is deeply important” to her identity and that she didn’t believe in isolation. While she enjoys some solitude as a painter, she values the experience of being in relationships and sees it as an integral part of her life.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE’s One Last Thing page, Keanu Reeves shared a personal moment of joy with his longtime partner, Alexandra Grant. The actor revealed that “a couple of days ago” they were in bed together, feeling connected and happy. “We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great,” he said. Reeves expressed his appreciation for the experience, saying that “it was just really nice to be together” with Grant.
